Comment – The Other side of the Coin
If ever you wanted to become involved in a friendly argu ment, then there would be hardly a better subject to begin with than the current aircraft procurement situation existing in Australia today. The subjects come thick and fast, ranging from civilian wide bodies through to the fighter choice and, if you seek an argument with some endurance, then definitely i. choose the latter.
TFF is almost a magic word amongst the aviation fraterni ty and with the billion or so dollars at stake it is no surprise to find a diversity of solutions and scenarios particularly suited to each contender. Therefore, I enter the fray not with a set opinion but more of a suggestion – an idea that could supply us with one economically acceptable solution that would perhaps also enable us to pick up some export dollars as a bonus.
