Navbox Just the Thing for Cross Country Pilots
Australian Aviation has just finished testing one of the latest products to be shipped to Australia from the US – a computer-controlled dead-reckoning navigation plotter made by a low-overhead firm, Avec (Aviation Electronics Corporation) which operates in the New Hampshire city of Nashua.
Many readers with a Service aviation background will get immediate heartburn when they remember the strip maps they mocked up, mucked up and generally had flapping in yards inside the cockpit. But they were invaluable, no one will deny that. . .
Some of us flying more or less regular routes these days do much the same thing as those Service jockeys, without startling success.
