Air New Zealand on Verge of Selecting New Twin-Jet

By the time this issue of Australian Aviation appears, Air New Zealand’s new twin-jet, wide-bodied choice will be known – either the Airbus A310 or the Boeing 767.

In a marathon cliffhanger, representatives Rolf Rue (Airbus Industrie) and Ron King and Jim Chorton (Boeing) cooled their heels in Auckland hotels for several weeks while the Government conducted an election, and dithered over the choice.
