Air New Zealand Takes Majority Shareholding Of Mount Cook

Mount Cook, New Zealand’s second airline (it dates back to 1920) became three-quarters owned by Air New Zealand in September.

The majority take-over of the Mount Cook Group followed a three-year saga of Commerce Commission wrangles and High Court injunctions and appeals. It delighted the national carrier, but caused deep reservations within the travel industry and among some members of the Government.
