Stage One of the ‘Dick Smith’ Enquiry Finalises Report:
Stage one of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Expenditure-Aviation Review has finished. Stage One examined only the situation regarding the Darling Harbour Heliport. A full evaluation of this is given elsewhere in this edition in our new Helo News section which commences in this issue.
The conclusions of the committee, which was chaired by Canberra MP, Mrs Ros Kelly. will be presented to the Minister for Aviation by late November. The Minister is then bound to report the findings to Parliament within three months which would have them made public during the first sittings of 1986.
