King Air Makes a Comeback in Australia
The Beech King Air is the most widely used turbine type on the Australian register. In recent years King Air sales have been very slow so the Australian agents, Hawker Pacific, are to be commended for finding new applications tor this versatile aircraft, which has resulted in them importing 3 King Air 200s and 3 King Air C90’s.
Details on these aircraft are as follows – King Air C90 N102EP c/n LJ. 968 was delivered to Bankstown last December. It has recently been sold to the Royal Flying Doctor Service and will be based at Charleville, Queensland. Now registered VH-FDP this King Air will be unique as it will be the first C90 to be modded with an additional door to facilitate stretcher loading. This extra door will be aft of the present entrance and will open out and up thus giving a 37″ wide entrance. Hawker Pacific are confident of further orders from the RFDS for this version of the C90 and in anticipation 2 further C90’s have been imported – N6052F c/n LJ. 842 is a 1978 model while N117D c/n LJ. 1021 is a 1982 production King Air.
