•The Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force retired the last of six Grumman Albatross amphibians on 21 March. They were originally supplied by the USN in 1961 and were used as Air Sea Rescue aircraft.

•According to General Hassan Toufanian, The Vice-Minister for War, it appears that the Iranian Government has decided not to take up its option to acquire a third batch of Grumman F-14A Tomcat fighters owing to their high unit cost of $22M. Deliveries of 80 Tomcats on order will not be affected.
