The USAF is continuing with the development test flying of the General Dynamics F-16XL, now officially designated F-16F. The programme calls for full-scale development in 1987 for an entry into service by 1991. F-16F has 85% greater internal fuel capacity resulting in a 50% increase in comparative combat radius on internal fuel only and an 87% increase using external tanks. Two F-16Fs, which have now logged more than 1,000 flight hours, have demonstrated the ability to roll while maintaining a 30-degree AOA at 90kts while carrying 12x500lb bombs.

Aerospatiale Launch an Attack Version of the Dauphin:
Aerospatiale has launched an attack version of the popular Dauphin helicopter. Designated the Panther, the revised Dauphin can carry a wide array of armaments and operate in both the utility and attack role with a quick change interior. Árma ment consists of a variety of rocket launchers, a 30mm cannon, Matra Mistral air-to-air missiles and HOT anti-tank missiles.
United Technologies Tie-up With Rolls Royce and Turbomeca Could Have Wide-Ranging Helicopter Power Implications:
Rolls Royce’s rollout of its S-70C Black Hawk powered by RR/Turbomeca RTM322 turboshafts holds Important and far-reaching potential implications for the helicopter industry. The primary reason for this is that any future RAF/Brish Army Black Hawk would not only be RTM322 powered but its US Army equivalents may now also follow suit.
