Airtest – Canadair Challenger 601

For about one hour on a recent Saturday afternoon, I was able to join their ranks and savour the delights of the corporate heavy iron pilots when I had the pleasure of flying Canadair’s Challenger 601. And in the words of Canadair demonstration pilot, Captain Bruce Boehm, “Getting used to flying the 601 is about as difficult as getting used to a pay increase!”

This latest offering from Canadair is certainly an excellent aircraft and a deserved member of the big three in Corporate Aviation. The flight deck is large and comfortable with ample space for all the best and latest in avionics. The cabin is extremely comfortable and offers full headroom from a flat floor with ample space for the CEO to stretch his legs and walk around on those long transoceanic flights.
