• A fire in a hangar at HMAS Albatross, Nowra on 4 December destroyed or severely damaged 12 of the 13 Grumman S-2E Trackers of RAN Squadrons VS816 and VC851.

• Qantas has sold Boeing 707 VH-EBU to Air Niugini and it will be re-registered P2-ANH. The aircraft has been at Avalon since 29 November for crew training purposes in preparation for entry into Air Niugini service on 2 January.
