Sunstate Airlines are one airline that is benefiting greatly by the open skies policy in Queensland and they are expanding their fleet to cope with the extra routes available to them. They have recently bought several aircraft within Australia as well as two Bandeirantes from Air Pacific in Fiji. The first of these is now FCK and was delivered via Noumea to Brisbane on 30th April. The second aircraft DQ-FDF followed the same route on the 7th May and will become FCE. The two Cessna 152s HCE and HCG were imported by Staywood Air for resale. They did not stay lqng in Victoria and are now operating with lllawarra Flying School at Bankstown. Beech Baron HFI is the second of three ex South African aircraft flown to Australia in loose formation last year. The first, an Islander, became OCH and is now with Sungold Airlines whilst the third, a Navajo, has not yet joined the register.

Although owned by Mivipe at Victoria River Downs, Bell 205, HLH is based at Bankstown and used for VIP charter work around Sydney. It was used extensively by Kerry Packer to travel to his property at Ellerston near Tamworth during the first four months of this year but has now been replaced on this route by Mr. Packer’s own Sikorsky S-76, CPH. Hawker Pacific’s Falcon 20 HPF has been used by Moana Airlines of New Zealand for the last six months and has flown the Tasman many times during that time as N876SC. Moana have now received their own Falcon 200 so Hawker Pacific are now using the series 20 as a demonstrator.
