Aviation Law Association Of Australia
The Aviation Law Association was formed at a meeting in Sydney on July 14, 1980. The Association’s basic purpose is to provide a forum for the discussion and consideration of problems and issues arising in aviation law, at legislative, administrative and industry levels.
Apart from New South Wales, the Association has branches in Queensland and Victoria (both formed in 1982), and Western Australia (where a new branch was formed this year details this page). The Association involves people from a wide cross-section of the aviation community including insurers, assessors, pilots, Department of Transport and Communications personnel, air traffic controllers, general aviation and airline representatives. In addition, many lawyers with a particular interest in aviation matters are also actively involved.
