Businessmen and NSW country residents will be the big losers as shortened horizons in federal and state government policies fail to allow for the fast growing demand for air travel at Sydney and Melbourne airports.
The former Minister, Senator Evans, ignored industry consult- ative measures when he overturned a month old decision to concentrate curfew operations over Botany Bay, told the Federal Airports Corporation to kick small aircraft out of Mascot by the end of the year and then designed Badgery’s Creek runways which will not allow takeoffs by a wide range of small twin engined aircraft – they are too short.
