Register Review
Fifty seven new allocations this issue with a good sprinkling of aircraft with a New Zealand connection. The six appropriately registered AESL Airtourers, OVV, JVV, FVV, BVV, LVV and XVV were built in New Zealand during 1970/71 for sale to the Singapore Air Force. On arrival in Singapore they were given the serial numbers 113 to 118 but during October and November of 1971 were transferred to the Ministry of Defence and put on the civil register as 9V-BDK, BDJ, BDQ, BDR, BOU and BDV respectively. Within a couple of months the first, second and fifth aircraft were taken back by the Air Force as 400, 401 and 402 only to be returned to their previous civil registrations in January 1972. Doug Stott bought all six earlier this year and they presently fly in Australia in their old Singapore Air Force colours of red and white.
