“See and Be Seen”: A View From the Courtroom
Early this year, the writer, a private pilot, was returning to Bankstown from a business trip to Parkes in central New South Wales. The planned track was via Bathurst and Katoomba, Sartime; the weather was CAVOK. A normal departure report had been given to Sydney FS after takeoff and had been acknowledged. Approaching Bathurst the normal 20 mile radio broadcast call was made:
“All stations Bathurst, Delta Echo Foxtrot cruising 4,000, overflying for Bankstown. ”
