Marking of Power Lines
There can be little doubt that the present decade has witnessed a dramatic growth in environmentalism and few could argue that the aircraft industry has been widely affected by environmentally motivated constraints. Aircraft must be designed and operated so as to conform to rigid noise constraints, for example, whilst it is obvious that if some sections of the environmental lobby achieve their objective the ‘gateway to Australia’, the City of Sydney, will be accessible to the visitor solely by ship, train or stagecoach!
A little less obviously but nonetheless disconcerting is the push to conceal from view that myriad of wire cable that festoons the Australian countryside. This article discusses some of the legal ramifications of power line concealment.
