Masling Rotor Wing Orders First Production Notar and Places MDX Options
A major announcement of interest to the local scene was made at the annual HAI Convention held late January in New Orleans.
The first production McDonnell Douglas MD-52ON has been acquired by Cootamundra-based Masling Rotor Wing – reportedly on behalf of an unnamed Australian customer. Derived from the MD-500E airframe and dynamics – the MD-520N incorporates an Allison 250-C20R powerplant and unique Notar (no tail rotor) anti torque system. It was also announced at HAI that the Australia-PNG McDonnell Douglas and Schweizer Helicopter distributor has taken 1 O options on the newly launched MDX helo.
