The loss of two MU-2s within a week dominate this period of Propjet News.

On December 9th MU-2J N296MA c/n 592 crashed into the Coral Sea 240 miles east of Cairns. The aircraft was en route from Majuro to Cairns and was believed to be on delivery to a Brisbane based company. No trace has been found of this aircraft. On December 16th Broughton Air Services MU-2 Marquise VH-BBA was destroyed when it crashed near Leonora, WA with the loss of ten lives.
