Ansett A,r Freight appear to be ditching their traditional AN livery for that of TNT. Their 707 now sports TNT colours as will their new BAe 146-200QTs, the first of which is seen here during a test flight in the UK. First QT is scheduled into Australia this May with the second aircraft due to be operational before June 30. The two ultra quiet freighters will be employed on the primary trunk freight network stretching from Adelaide in the west to Cairns in the north.

USA Orders European
Two European manufacturers have received large orders for their airliners from American operators.
The first is from American Airlines, which has ordered 75 Fokker 100s and optioned a further 75 The order is the largest in the Dutch company’s history and deliveries of the first 75 will be made between 1991 and 1994. Amencan’s F100s will be configured in a 95 seat, two class arrangement and will be used to replace early model Boeing 727s and BAe 146s. They will be powered by uprated Rolls-Royce Tay 650 engines. American is also on the verge of ordering up to 200 36/50 seat commuters for its various American Eagle feeders, with DHC being the only North American commuter manufacturer in this class, it is also possible that this massive order will go to Europe.
