AIR NEW ZEALAND- have purchased two second-hand Boeing 767-200s from China Airlines in Ta. iwan. Details of these Pratt & Whitney powered aircraft are as follows: c/n 22681 was an early production 767-209 that was delivered to China Airlines in 1982 as B-1836. When delivered to Air New Zealand in October 1989 it will be registered ZK-NBF. C/n 22682 was delivered to China Airlines in 1983 as B-1838, it will be registered ZK-NBH when delivered to Air New Zealand in September 1990. Air New Zealand’s first 747-419 is presently scheduled for delivery in November. To be registered ZK-NZE it will he named ‘Mataatua’ Eyes of the Gods.

ANSETT – Al A320-200 VH-HYG c/n 0029 flew into Melbourne on April 28th on completion of its delivery flight from Toulouse. Ansett have also taken up options on three A320-200s for delivery in 1990. Boeing 727-277 VH-RMM departed Melbourne April 21st on delivery to Federal Express. Boeing 727-277 VH-RMY departed on May 12th also destined for service with Federal Express. Both aircraft were ferried across the Pacific to Seattle. By the time this is read, Boeing 727-277s VH-RML and VH-RMO should have followed. Boeing 767-277 VH-RMD was noted at Melbourne in early May once again wearing Ansett titles. It was in August 1986 that VH-RMD was painted with. Cook Islands International titles when it commenced flying for this new airline. The 767 was replaced in Cook Islands service the following April by a 727, however, for reasons unknown, Ansett have continued to fly VH-RMD on their network as Cook Islands International.
