1990 Pilot Training Directory

One potential problem resulting from the current airline crisis in Australia which has not received attention in the general media is the effect it will have on the Australian flying training industry, one of the few real growth areas of local aviation in recent years.

From the top of the range schools, like the Australian Aviation College, owned by the front runners of the Australian aerospace industry, Hawker de Havilland, to many of the smaller virtual oneman schools working out of general aviation fields all around Australia the crisis is cause for concern.

Although there will always be a long-term demand for newly graduated commercial pilots to move through the system into the right hand seats of international and trunk route airliners the walkout by the nations airline pilots will inevitably cause a slow down in the training industry.
