Corporate Contrails
Corporate Aviation 1990
The start of 1990 is not expected to be a good one for corporate aviation in Australia. The large number of corporate collapses has caused a number of corporations to sell their aircraft and some of those being squeezed by the general business downturn are reviewing their position. This is reflective, however, of a wider national problem – that of lack of business confidence overall. At a time when we are being encouraged to export and be more competitive, a range of Government policies has served to stifle these initiatives.
The ABAA takes the view that unless Government accepts that business mobility is a prerequisite for business expansion, on a global scale, Australia will ultimately be disadvantaged. Successive reviews of our airspace management procedures have merely concentrated on further restrictions on corporate aviation and maintained outdated practices.
