The pilots’ strike is still providing excellent airband listen!ng, what with the occasional snide remark made to our band of v1s1ting replacement domestic airmen by air traffic controllers and other pilots!But all the interesting stuff isn’t limited to aircrew and ATC staff. Some good one-liners have come from the mouths of passengers, such as overseas visitor Professor Bernd Nothoer.
The Professor had the privilege (I genuinely mean that) of riding as a passenger on board a stand-in RAAF Hercules C. 130 aircraft from Sydney to Canberra. The learned gentleman had just arrived in Australia ex Frankfurt and was bound for a language conference in our national capital.
