Raaf F-111C Avionics Update – Contract Negotiations Underway with Preferred Tenderer

A team led by Rockwell Electronics is currently negotiating with a Defence Department/RAAF team on final details of the contract to carry out the Avionics Update (AUP) program on the RAAF’s 22 Amberley based strike/reconnaissance F-111C jets.

The proposal is that the Mach 2. 5 jets in No. 1 and No. 6 Squadrons would be upgraded so that they could be maintained as front line operational aircraft through to about 2010.
