Boeing is now officially offering the 767-X wide body twinjet to prospective airline customers. The aircraft will feature a new wing design, new fuselage cross section and high efficiency turbofan engines. With two class seating for 350-375 passengers, the new airliner complements the current Boeing jetliner family, and when sufficient launch orders are received will be renamed the 777. Initial delivery to launch customer is targeted for 1995.

Boeing Delivers 6,000th Jetliner:

Boeing delivered its 6,000th jetliner, a 767-200 for Britannia Airways, on 10 April. The first Boeing commercial jetliner, a four engined 707-120, was delivered on 15 August 1958 to Pan American World Airways.

Currently, 5,319 Boeing jetliners are in the inventory of 444 owners based in 124 countries. The fleet of Boeing jetliners has accumulated 187m revenue hours, flown 81. 3bn statute miles (130bn kms) and carried more than 8. 1bn passengers.
