Dakota A65-69 was flown from RAAF Butterworth on 16 June and it arrived at Gutersloh on 20 June. It was one of the remaining 12 Dakotas in RAAF service. Amongst the six man crew was Air Vice Marshall David Evans, who flew 240 missions during the Berlin Airlift.
