Avm Barry Gration Emerges as Likely Next Raaf Chief of Air Staff
Air Vice Marshal Barry Gration, 54, who took up the appointment of Air Commander Australia at Glenbrook, west of Penrith, NSW, earlier this year has emerged as the favourite to become the Royal Australian A,r Force’s next Chief of Air Staff.
At the time of writing, Gration, a younger brother of the Chief of the Defence Force, General Peter Gration, is considered the heir apparent to the current GAS, Air Marshal Ray Funnell, 55, whose appointment as the RAAF’s highest ranking officer is not expected to go beyond April, 1991.
