Caa Announces New Airways Control Proposal:
The Civil Aviation Authority on 1 August announced its proposal to radically alter the airways management system.
The proposal basically consists of replacing the current two level (controlled and uncontrolled) airspace management system with one based on the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) system, with some slight modifications to suit Australian requirements. The new system would basically involve having seven classes of airspace (A-G) ranging from full controlled radar services to no air traffic control service with no clearance provided. Other system changes. will also be made in line with the airspace management system overhaul.
