• TAA has accepted its eighteenth and final Boeing 727. Over the past 16 years it has taken delivery of six 727-100s and 12 of the Advanced version of the 727. TAA played a part in the extended range capabilities of the Advanced 200 series when they persuaded Boeing to provide additional fuel capacity, a feature lacking in Boeing’s original higher passenger capacity 727 series 200.
• The Gnat lightweight fighter will be phased out by the Indian Air Force by April next year. Two former Gnat squadrons have already converted to the Ajeet and of the remaining three squadrons, two will convert to the Ajeet with the other one re-equipping with the MiG-21bs.
