As a result of encouraging world wide market response, British Aerospace is to go ahead with Jetstream 31 production at Prestwick. Commitments have been received from five operators for 13 aircraft with nine options, while letters of interest have been received for a further 30-40 aircraft from 16 operators.

The first sale of the Shorts 330 in Australia has been made to Jet Charter Airlines of Sydney. The four aircraft will be mainly operated on behalf of Queensland Mines to maintain a passenger and cargo service to Narbalek.
