Raaf Ready Reserve to Be Mainly Air Field Defence Personnel

The major commitment by the Royal Australian Air Force to the newly accepted principle of having a Ready Reserve will lie mainly in an Air Force Regiment tasked with air field defence inside the perimeter of bases.

Over five years this unit will build up, by recruiting its personnel at the rate of about 90 a year. Each annual intake will undergo a full 12 months’ training, and in subsequent years these airfield defence airmen will take on additional training of about 50 days a year.
