Register Review

The register update this issue shows 39 new aircraft flying in Australia and five aircraft restored to the register. This is balanced by 42 aircraft being removed from the register for various reasons leaving just over 9. 200 aircraft registered by the CAA. This figure does not include gliders, gyrocopters and ultralights whose records are kept by the Gliding Federation of Australia and the Australian Ultralight Federation respectively.

Seven helicopters can be found in the new allocations including a Hughes 500, HJT, for Helljet which arrived at their Brisbane facility from Caloundra on 19 July as N501AH. Jetranger OOP comes from New Zealand where its last owner was the Helicopter Rescue Service of Auckland and Dauphin LSL comes from England where it flew as G-BSRM. Although the Dauphin’s owners address is Brighton Le Sands in Sydney the aircraft is based at Lismore Helibase and operates the Surf Life Saving Association patrols of the Gold Coast and Northern NSW beaches.
