The 1991 Bizjet Directory covers the period from 01/09/90 to 30/09/91. Fleet numbers presently stand at 78, which relates to an overall reduction of 12 on last years figure of 90.

Under present economic conditions a fall in fleet numbers was widely forecast, however even the most pessimistic did not expect it to be so severe. What the above figures do not show is that of the 90 aircraft listed last year, 21 or 23% have since been sold overseas. The first bizjet was registered in Australia in late 1964 and to date this is by far the greatest number of aircraft to depart the region in a twelve month period. Present economic conditions have been compared to that of 1983, however even that year saw the loss of only eight aircraft.
