The disposal of Air New Zealand's Fokker F27 fleet continues with two more being sold to NZ Post to expand its Fastpost mail and package delivery service. The sale of two other F27s has caused some controversy in NZ because they were sold off in secret to an unknown buyer.

Commercial BA/Airbus at War:
A row has developed between Airbus Industrie and British Airways, with the manufacturer deciding to exclude the airline from studies to develop its proposed 700-800 seat “superjumbo” airliner. In addition, BAs top management was not invited to the recent A340 rollout ceremony.
The squabble comes about as a result of BA constantly choosing to ignore Airbus’ products, despite British Aerospace having a 20% interest in the manufacturer. BA has picked up the derogatory nicknames “Boeing Airways” or “Boeing Always” over the years because of its preference for the American product rather than the local one. Its most recent equipment choice saw it order the Boeing 777 widebody twin instead of the Airbus A330 and then rub salt into the wound by specifying American General Electric Engines rather than the Rolls-Royce Trent.
