Helicopters again dominate the New Allocations with ten new aircraft listed and one changing markings. Bristow Helicopters in WA have sent their Bell 212 BEE back to the parent company in Scotland, as noted in the December issue, where it now operates as G-BTYA In return they have taken delivery ofa larger Bell 214ST from Scotland which takes up the same markings as the exported 212. The 20 seat 214ST utilises twin General Electric CT? turboshafts producing acombined 2,250 shp, driving a two bladed rotor, For some reason the large Bell was first registered LHT to Lloyds but within a week was changed to BEE with Bristows, Another Bristow import is Super Puma BHV. This model, specifically tailored to Bristow’s needs, is known. as the Bristow Tiger in the UK. The worldwide Bristow fleet consists of over two hundred helicopters and forty fixed wing aircraft operating from theirheadquarters at Redhill in England, their main operating base at Aberdeen in Scotland and their subsidiaries in Australia, Bermuda, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, PNG, Singapore, Trinidad and the USA, The company is worth an estimated £200m andhas recently been bought out by its own management
