The deal was announced in late January and should be ratified by the time these words are read. Under the terms of the agreement, Bombardier-the owner of Canadair, Shorts and Learjet – will hold 51% of DHC’s stock and the Ontario government 49%. After acquiring DHC in 1986, Boeing offered it for sale in 1990 and a deal with Italy’s Alenia and France’s Aerospatiale was blocked by the European Commission last year.
