The dismantling of Strategic Air Command will see the Command's airbases and aircraft, along with those of Tactical Air Command come under the control of the newly formed Air Combat Command. Military Airlift Command will also be superseded, becoming Air Mobility Command. The veteran workhorse of SAC, the 8-52 will now come under control of the new ACC.
