Twenty seven aircraft make up the new allocation section this month, indicating an upward swing in the aviation economy.
Of the four helicopters listed, Aerospatiale A Star AWK comes from Japan where it was operated by Royal Koku at Tokyo Heliport. Interestingly, the aircraft was flying as an aAS350B Squirrel inJapan so it may have had an engine change from French Arriel to American Lycoming at some time to make it aAS350 DA-Star. Squirrels WCD and WCG, are from New Zealand. WCD started life in England in January 1983 as G-BKMO but within three months had become G-SORR with the Colt Car Company of Staverton. It went to New Zealand during November 1985 where it joined WCG in the HelicoptersNZ fleet, which accounts for their previous ZK-HN prefixed Kiwi markings. WCG was operated by Southern Lakes Helicopters of Te Anau before coming to Australia while WCD came straight from Helicopters NZ The only reregistration is Auster J/5B Autocar KCW which was one of 82 J/5Bs built in England between 1950 and 1957 using the Gipsy Major engine. It came to Australia new during August 1955 and flew as RNB until changed to ENB during December 1961.
