• The first aircraft carrier landing by an F/A-18F Super Hornet took place during sea trials aboard USS John C Stennis on January 18 off North Carolina. The landing was made by the first two-seat F/A-18F, F1/165166.
• Three Nimrod MR. 2s stored at RAF Kinloss since 1992 will be airfreighted by An-124 to Flight Refuelling at Bournemouth-Hurn Airport to be converted to Nimrod 2000 development aircraft.
