Qantas again remained the largest international carrier with a 19.8 per cent market share, although this was down 4.7 percentage points on the same time last year. At the same time, Jetstar’s marketshare increased by 2.1 percentage points to 8.5 per cent, while Pacific Blue also increased its market share to 6.2 per cent. Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand saw their share of international traffic decrease.

Most of the increase in traffic appears to have come from low cost airlines including AirAsia X, Jetstar and Pacific Blue, as the LCCs collectively carried 18.2 per cent of international passengers – up 7.1 percentage points.
