A Qantas Boeing 747-400 will take off from Sydney on November 14 with 300 sick, disabled and disadvantaged children, plus former Olympic sprinter Cathy Freeman, for a joyflight.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Turramurra, the 90 minute flight will take the children over New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. The lucky children are nominated for the joyflight by various children’s charities and organisations such as Barnados, Lifestart, Cure our Kids, Giant Steps and Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind Children.

“The Qantas Jumbo Joy Flight takes these children on a lifetime experience above the Sydney, Newcastle and Canberra area, which is an opportunity most have never had the chance to do before,” said Roger Norman from the Rotary Club of Turramurra.

“The Rotary Club of Turramurra can only provide this experience to the kids, thanks to the assistance of a number of organisations including Qantas, Qantas Pathfinders, Shell, Sydney Airport Corporation and McDonalds,” he added.
