Cessna delivered its first Model 162 Skycatcher on December 18 at a delivery ceremony held at Yingling Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas.
The aircraft, which recently received ASTM compliance which clears it for flights under the Light Sport Aircraft category in the US without the need for FAA certification, was delivered to Rose Pelton, the wife of Cessna CEO, chairman and president Jack Pelton.

The Skycatcher is a two-seat piston powered aircraft aimed at the training and private aircraft markets, and Cessna holds orders for over 1000 aircraft. The all-metal aircraft is manufactured under contract by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation in China before being shipped to one of three reassembly sites in the US (including Yingling Aircraft) before delivery to their owners.
