QAL growth continues in July

Queensland Airports Limited has recorded growth in passenger movements of 2.9 per cent during January across its three airports.

The growth was primarily driven by the Gold Coast, which was up 3.3 per cent compared to the same time last year. This was primarily driven by 23 per cent growth in international traffic through the airport, allowing it to reach a new all time monthly record of 464,056 passenger movements.

Mount Isa showed some resilience after some months of decline during 2009 related to the slump in the resources sector, posting a 2.1 per cent increase in passenger movements. Townsville was also positive, with a 1.3 per cent increase in passenger numbers.
