Boeing has selected UK based Monarch Aircraft Engineering as a maintenance, repair and overhaul partner for its GoldCare 787 support package.
Under the agreement, Monarch will conduct scheduled maintenance for 787s, including A, B, C and D checks for 787s covered under the GoldCare program in Europe. Monarch’s sister company Monarch Airlines has six 787s on order which are expected to be maintained through the GoldCare arrangement.

TUI Travel signed on last month as the first customer for GoldCare, which also involves partnerships with component suppliers including GE Aviation, Hamilton Sundstrand, Honeywell, Moog Inc, Panasonic and Rockwell Collins.
Few airlines have shown interest in signing on for the support package so far, with some in recent years criticising the proposed cost structure when compared with carrying out maintenance in-house.
