Qantas will increase its capacity on its China routes, according to a recent filing with the International Air Services Commission (IASC), which states that the airline will upgrade some of its services from Airbus A330s to Boeing 747-400s for the northern winter scheduling season.

In its application, the airline is seeking to increase its allocation on the China route by 166 seats per week in each direction. This would give it 2301 seats per week to and from China, with the upgrade expected to take place in mid January, with the full increase fully utilised by the end of that month.
