HBC launches newest King Air

The Beechcraft 250 features improved field performance. (HBC)

Hawker Beechcraft has launched the King Air 250 at the NBAA Conference in Atlanta, with the new twin-turboprop utilising composite technology to improve  performance.

The King Air 250 features composite winglets and propellers, as well as changes to the engine induction system. Compared to the B200GT, the 250 has a 122m advantage in takeoff distance over a 50ft obstacle at maximum takeoff weight, while at a 5000ft elevation at 25 degrees the takeoff over the same obstacle the takeoff roll is improved by 215m.

Certification for the King Air 250 program is scheduled for later this year, with first deliveries planned for the second quarter of 2011.
