Virgin in $20m blue over IT crash

Virgin Blue has announced that the series of computer failures it experienced during late September and early October will have an impact of $15-$20 million on its full-year earnings.

The airline announced the figure in a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange, and added that it “will be actively pursuing all avenues to recover this cost”. It is expected that most of that will be sought from Navitaire, which provides the airline’s New Skies computer reservations system.
