Also on November 29, between 11.30am and 2.30pm F-111s will fly over several southern Queensland and northern NSW towns that have had an affinity with the jet which frequently flew at low level in these areas on training missions over the years.

On December 3, the aircraft’s last day on operations, at least four F-111s will launch from Amberley and fly over Ipswich, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast between 11.30am and 1.15pm, before landing back at Amberley for the final time at around 12.45pm. The final aircraft will be greeted at Amberley with a water cannon salute before shut down, after which the type will be retired from service.

On November 27 an F-111 performed a dump and burn over the Ipswich Christmas Carols.
