Singapore Airlines has announced that it will substitute Boeing 777-300s and 747-400s on the services regularly operated by its Airbus A380s as three of those aircraft undergo precautionary engine changes.
A mix of 777-300s and 747-400s will be deployed on SQ221/212/222/221 services between Singapore and Sydney and also on SQ238 and SQ227 between Singapore and Melbourne at various times between November 10 and 15. In addition, the airline will operate supplementary services with Boeing 777-300s on both routes. More information on the changes can be obtained from Singapore Airlines.

SIA also noted that it is conducting precautionary inspections on the Trent 900 engines that power its 11 A380s in accordance with a recently issued Airworthiness Directive from EASA, which are not expected to impact on its schedule. Currently, SIA is still operating most of its A380s fleet, with only three aircraft grounded for engine changes.
