Singapore Airlines has announced it is increasing its fuel surcharge by between US$3 and US$25 per sector across its network, its first fuel surcharge increase since June 2008. The airline says the surcharge, made necessary by jet fuel prices of over US$95 per barrel, “will offer only partial relief from the higher operating costs arising from increases in the price of jet fuel”. The surcharge takes effect for tickets issued on or after December 2.
